Paired Mathematics

A structured course that builds on basic mathematical skills, delivered with the assistance of Y10 student coaches.

Literacy Intervention

Staff involved in the delivery of Literacy Intervention along with English teachers are:

Accelerated Reader Scheme is offered to selected pupils to encourage regular reading and develop a love of reading.

 

A specific reading programme is also offered to identified pupils in  Y7 and  Y8.

 

All Y7 pupils follow a Literacy Scheme of Work  in the LRC.

 

 

Reading Advocates

Reading Advocates is a paired reading scheme that runs during registration lead by Miss Herridge. It allows Year 9 Reading Advocates to work in a leadership role to support Year 7 and 8 pupils with their reading. 

 

Specific Year 7 and 8 pupils are invited to attend one session a week and work with a specific Year 9 advocate who supports their reading and understanding.  They will support and challenge pupils in their choice of books and also aim promote regular reading for pleasure.
